Almost 1 billion people have to walk many kilometers every day in order to have access to water!
Established in 1991, Hippo Roller is an innovative solution that provides an easy, efficient and reliable answer to this problem.
Hippo Roller successfully developed a big water container that could be filled with up to 90 liters of water, 5 times the capacity of a single bucket.
Millions of people across 29 countries have already directly benefitted from this product.
Altadeva is delighted to be able to offer you this technology!

How can we reduce the water needs for irrigation and the use of fertilizers by half, and at the same time increase the quality, quantity and precocity of the harvests by 70% while still being environmentally friendly?
It’s currently possible with the use of organic ingredient based superabsorbent hydrogel. These granulated substances have the extraordinary property of absorbing large quantities of water, to keep and to slowly release, depending on the need of the plant.
Derived from the green industry, this product is easy to use. It encourages faster growth for any plant and fertilization for dry soils; it efficiency replaces the oil based hydrogels, which are forbidden in food crops (neurotoxic and carcinogenic).
Successfully tested in a laboratory, this hydrogel is currently in the field testing stage and its creators are looking for technological and financial partners as well as network distributers in order to diffuse the innovation worldwide.

Worldwide, more than 30% of fruits and vegetables harvested are wasted before the consumer even gets a chance to purchase. This food wastage has a direct effect on the poverty in the world and also has high environmental and financial impacts.
In emerging countries, the main waste in the food chain is just after the harvest, due to limited storing and transportation infrastructures.
How to limit these losses?
A researcher from the North-West University has made the choice to work on the food conservation by developing a 100% biodegradable, odorless, tasteless and edible gel which forms a coating protection on the surface of the food.
So far, this innovation has been able to extend the shelf life of fruits (apples, oranges, strawberries …) for up to 7 days, in “ideal conditions” (20-30 °C in a laboratory) and up to 3 days in non-ideal conditions.
This technology will allow the street vendors, along roads in emerging countries, to protect their only source of income.
In order to accelerate the industrialization stage, the researcher is looking for technological and financial partners.
